The foundation (ILCHF) has a single mission: to ensure that every child in Illinois has the opportunity to grow up healthy. As such, its grant making is designed to close the gap between children who have access to care and those who are underserved. At the current time, ILCHF focuses its giving in two focus areas: 1) improving the oral health of children; and 2) addressing the mental health needs of children, specifically through system of care modeling. In addition, the foundation monitors emerging and other compelling health issues that the board of directors may select as focus areas in the future.
